Creative Spotlight: Thomas Green

I met Thomas at his current art exhibit at Center for the Arts in Murfreesboro, TN.  He is an artist that is definitely passionate about what he does, and, it shows.  His current work is based off the beauty he found while researching subjects not typically associate with beauty - addictions and diseases.  His pieces are mesmerizing, with a curious depth, thanks to painting techniques he has developed over time.

I am grateful Thomas agreed to be interviewed for the blog, and am also certain you will be drawn in by his words, humor, and amazing art.

Creative Spotlight: Sara Teixeira

Sara Teixeira

I met Sara through her Etsy shop some years back.  She has an amazing collection of red poppy ceramics, and when I requested one in blue, she made it for me straight away.  Of course, I was hooked on her art from that point on!

She pays such attention to detail, and her art is full whimsy, vibrance, and spirituality.  She likes to use different mediums for expression, and her passion is apparent in all of them!

While reconnecting with art in adult years, Dawna was advised to make art every day for one year, and in doing so, she would learn as much as many artists learn in 10 years.  In other words, practice your art every day.  She valued that advice so much, that she lived it...and, it shows.  I am so grateful to have her as a friend, and share her work with you.

What does Creativity mean to you?

Creativity to me is the space/time/energy we all enter into where what is in us must be expressed.

Creative Spotlight: Liz Kelly Zook

I met Liz at a local business meetup a couple years ago...hard to believe it's been that long!  We quickly became friends, and I fell in love with her ideas and work.  Her current collection is based on scenes from the movie Bye Bye Birdie (1963).  All of the pieces from this collection are done on 40" by 30" raised canvas.  The black & whites are acrylic, and the rest are watercolour.

What does Creativity mean to you?

After staring at a blinking cursor for five minutes, all I can say is if I lost it I would feel like I had been cut in half, but it's not something I think about often. It is a huge component of who I am...
