Creative Spotlight: Megan Kelley

Megan Kelley - Lucent Vignette Photography

I met Megan Kelley in Nashville earlier this year, and really appreciated her interest in and care for the creative community.  She is a wealth of information and happy to share.

As you will see, she has a definite passion for what she does.  On her site, she describes herself as:  "a painter, designer, illustrator, dreamer, doer, maker, thinker, sender, giver, finder, builder, tinkerer, writer, drawer, laugher, happier living in Nashville and open to any conversation."  I definitely agree with that assessment.  I am so excited to introduce readers to Megan and her work (she gives some stellar advice here, too)!

Creative Spotlight: The Goddess Project

Embody Your Muse - The Goddess Project

I am so inspired by projects by, for, and about women, so The Goddess Project is something I am very excited about.  Holli Rae and Sara Landas have travelled across the country to interview over 100 women about life-changing experiences for this great project.  They say that if there is one thing they learned along the documentary journey, "it's that no matter who you are, or what you believe, there is someone out there just waiting to discover their possibilities in your reality."

Holli and Sara have a Kickstarter for their documentary - The Goddess Project.  Please be sure to check it out and donate, if you feel moved!

Creative Spotlight: Beth Inglish

Beth Inglish - Ashley Hylbert

Beth Inglish is a painter, writer, and musician from Nashville, TN.  She is passionate about the art scene in Nashville - so passionate, that she started the Nashville Creative Group (which is how we came to meet).  The group is over 1,000 members, very community-oriented, and meets monthly.

Beth's current work is a journey into her own healing.  Throughout the process, she was drawn to the work of Basquiat, Munch, and Kahlo , because of the powerful stories that came through in their work.  The many lines in her work signify action and boundaries, leading her from the past and present; and the flow of blue, especially, symbolizes faith and truth.  Her hope is that you, the viewer, are able to connect with her story, and have the opportunity to heal as well!

Lucent Vignette Photography - Mai Harris

Mai Harris is an artist with a drive to connect the art community in her area - Murfreesboro, TN.  She recently started Fervent Fusion, which currently connects artists with exhibition and performance opportunities at no cost.  She is working to expand Fervent Fusion in the future even further for artists, so if you are an artist in the Middle Tennessee area, you will definitely want to follow her here: Fervent Fusion on Facebook.

She is not only an artist to me, but also a friend.  We met over shared ideas, and found that we had a lot of the same passions for the artistic community.  I am so happy to share her work with you!
