Creative Spotlight: Mollie Kellogg

Embody Your Muse - Mollie Kellogg - Three faces of Mollie Kellogg’s Incognito Witch Project, fine art and short films celebrating hidden magick

I came across Mollie Kellogg's work through a post on Facebook!  Her style and use of colour immediately drew me in, and I am incredibly inspired by Incognito Witch: Paint My Life. What a great reminder to live all that one is, instead of hiding the inner magick we all have.  And, I am not the only one inspired; Mollie says that she has come to find that the message in her art has helped viewers with self-empowerment, self-love or body issues.

As a child, Mollie tried her hand at painting on her mother's works-in-progress when she wasn't looking (what a patient, supportive mother!).  Through life experiences - among them, theatre, children, and life-threatening health issues -  her work has become conceptual, sometimes blurring the line between what is imaginary and real.  "I believe that this accessible humanness combined with the imagination, strong concepts, consistency, and the ability to find humor in painful or embarrassing situations is the Incognito Witch magick formula."

Embody Your Muse - Charity Daw

Charity Daw's work was introduced to me by a friend of mine who was just recently featured - Alicia Maynard!  I was instantly in love with Charity's feather crown (first photo below), and knew I had to delve further into her work.  As you will see, she is incredibly creative, and mixes mediums with ease.

Charity made her first hat while pursuing song writing in Nashville not so long ago, and and the art of hat making clearly took off for her.  She moved to L.A. in 2011, and has been able to exercise her passions - hat making and writing - daily.  Charity illustrated the book "Up Down the Front Back Door", a children's book, which was published in December of 2013.  As you will see in this interview, she paints as well!  Artists that work with multiple mediums sure inspire me...

Embody Your Muse - Vladimir Kush

I came across Vladimir’s work online not too long ago, and immediately wanted to connect and feature him.  For me, his work is what I equate with a “play on words,” though he explains it much more eloquently.  Enjoy!

Were you creative as a child?  If so, how have you evolved through the years?  Did anyone encourage you, especially?

I grew up in a family with high cultural values. At the time of my childhood, Russia was still behind an iron curtain and the only way to see exotic and unusual places was by traveling in my own imagination. Books that provoked such imagination were always on my family bookshelves.  I grew exotic plants from seeds and cuttings only to travel with them to their native countries.
